Suppose, you saw a picture of a restaurant or a beautiful place while browsing Facebook or Instagram. You couldn’t understand the name of the place, so you took a screenshot and saved it to look for later. Now you don’t have to search anymore. Google Maps will analyze the screenshot itself and find out the location.
This is possible because of Google’s AI technology ‘Gemini’. Using artificial intelligence, Google Maps will be able to identify the place you want to know about from the text or visual information in the screenshot. Then it will tell you whether you want to save that place or not. If you give permission, it will be saved in your Google Maps list.
To use this feature, you need to update the Google Maps app installed on your iPhone. Then go to the ‘You’ tab and you will see a new private list called ‘Screenshots’. Once you enter there, a demo will show you how this feature will work. This feature has given the user the convenience of finding places without thinking. This ease of getting information in the digital age has taken Google Maps one step further.
